The intrusion detection feature of my Norton Internet Security(NIS)
application blocks the function of the FP Discussion Web "reply"
hyperlink(webbot). Symantec informs me that the "attack signature" of the DW
"reply" function needs to be identified so that it can be "excluded" from
being blocked by the "intrusion detection" product which is a part of NIS
NIS has a long list of "attack signatures" which can be excluded, but I have
no idea which one, when excluded, would allow the proper function of the DW
"reply" hyperlink (webbot). One of these attack signatures is noted as: "
HTTP Front Page PWD Service Access" signature. Is this the proper signature
to exclude from my intrusion detection, that should allow the FP DW "reply"
function?
I would appreciate any assistance with this problem. Alternatively, does
anyone have the "free" security support phone number for MS, if they might
have more information.... thanks
