I have a customer who uses AOL - he is a technophobe and AOL provides him
with email access and news/stock info. He has a discussion web that I host
for him and about 18 months ago, some kids got in there and posted a lot of
foul language nonsense. It became a big deal for him because the discussion
is centered around his golf course business and he was getting ready for a
very high profile corporate tournament. He had me clean it up and restrict
posting privileges to registered users only -- needless to say, no one has
since posted there.
What I would like to do is use Sharepoint features to auto-generate email to
him whenever the discussion is added to - that way he'll know on a daily
basis if there have been any shenanigans.
If I can get this to work, then I will be able to open access up to all,
once again.
My questions are as follows:
Is there a web-based how-to for setting up this auto-generation, using FP
2002? I have physical access to the server.
And, how would I configure mail setting for AOL -- (smtp name?)
with email access and news/stock info. He has a discussion web that I host
