Display mode on Tablet PC

I'm running PPT 2003 on a Tablet PC. When I am in full screen slide show
mode there is a little toolbar near the lower right of the screen. How can I
get rid of this? It gets in the way of slide shows but I cannot find any way
to turn it off.

Sonia

Open the presentation in Normal view and go to Tools > Options > View and
uncheck "Show popup toolbar",

Thanks - but I already tried that, and it doesn't work. That option appears
on all versions of ppt; the thing I am complaining about only happens on the
tablet. I can run the same presentation with the same settings on a normal
desktop and this toolbar does not appear.

Which tablet? I ask because I don't have anything lower right on my tablet
either... (Mine's a TC1000)

I've seen this happen -- on an MS person's computer, in fact. Embarrassingly
enough to me, they came looking for a PPT MVP to show them how to turn the
thing off, but I couldn't figure it out in the time allotted! I believe it's
a setting on the tablet PC itself and not a PPT-specific setting.

I told 'em they needed to find a Tablet MVP. :)

It's a Toshiba Portege 3500.

I too have a Toshiba Portege 3505 and finally got it set up so I could take a
look. I don't see any toolbar. But, can you describe what it looks like? I'll
play here to see if I can find out how to "turn it on". Then we'll have an idea
of how to turn it off.

IIRC, it (what I saw, at least) looks rather like the pen/pointer tools on
the lower left of a PPT show -- a couple of arrows maybe, a pen-type thingy,
a couple of other icons all in a row. The ones I saw were rather
faded/washed out and kinda looked "Windows XP-ish." Doesn't the tablet have
a special version of Windows? I bet it's something that needs to be turned
off/on in Windows...

I've been looking, but can't find anything. I'll keep poking around.

Yes, I think that's it. It is about 3cm long * 0.5 cm high. It has 7 little
buttons, from the left: select vs ink; pen; crayon; eraser; lasso; previous;
next. The lower right corner of it is about 1cm in from the right and 1cm up
from the bottom.

I'm running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 with SP2. This behaviour was
there before I installed SP2.

I've seen this on other people's Porteges but not on any other machine.
Nobody I've asked has known how to get rid of it.

If I go to My Computer and click on Help > About Windows, the following
information identifies my version. How does yours differ?

Microsoft Window

I have found it. It is a remnant of an old office XP addin, I think from
when I was running a beta version of office.

regsvr32 /u "%PROGRAMFILES%\Tablet Pack\op.dll" fixes it.

Thanks for the help.

Was that the Office XP Pack for Tablet PC? I was wondering about whether you
had left that installed. Office XP was released before Tablets were introduced
in the market, so a package was available to make use of the Tablet in O-XP
applications. It isn't required for Office 2003. You might want to go to
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the Pack.

Yes - that is the tablet pack for Office XP. As soon as I saw the dll name I
realized why we three weren't seeing it. I agree with Sonia - get rid of the
whole pack if you are running Office 2003. It can mess with other things on
Office 2003. (For example, it doesn't always like OneNote...)
