Dividing Date Cell Question

I have a cell that is basically a date/time stamp. I need to keep tha
cell intact but in another section of the same sheet make it show jus
the date. for instance I need to take this "11/26/2004 11:33:50 AM
and make it show "11/26/2004" in another cell. Every way i have trie
to do this i end up getting "38317.4818" even when i format the cel
just to show me mm/dd/yyyy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The date/time is located in column A and i need just the date in colum
"n"

=INT(A1)
and format this cell as date

One way:

Since dates are simply serial number offsets from a base date, and times
are just fractional days, use:

N1: =INT(A1)

Format N1 as a date.
