Does Entourage/Exchange setup affect existing PC Outlook access?

I would love some feedback on this...

My work has given me a PC laptop running Outlook 2000 accessing their
Exchange server. As I use a Mac laptop at home, I was thinking that I
could also access the Exchange server through Entourage X. When I
asked my Sys Admin he suggested against it, as he thought that
Entourage would strip my files from the Exchange server, rendering my
PC laptop unable to get files from the Exchange server. Is this
really the case? Ultimately I would like to keep my PC laptop access
running as is, but allow Entourage to get updates and access the
server as well.

Thanks for your comments in advance.

No, this is not the case. Entourage accesses the mails on the server. You
can, either manually or by rule, move the mails off there, but by default it
simply looks at the folder structure already present and does not
automatically strip the messages out.
