Does Entourage use MAPI?

I have a user who has just got a mac and wants to connect to the
exchange server using entourage. Problem is, the http side of my
exchange server is currently screwed and I'm going to have to reinstall
exchange to get it working again (whic I can't do for a while).

I'm having problems connecting to the server with the mac; does
Entourage use MAPI like Outlook in windows, or does it rely on http?

Entourage uses http.

If MAPI is your only option, he may be able to use Outlook 2001 under
classic.

Entourage does NOT use http! For Exchange, it uses WebDAV.

Or WebDAV over HTTP, if you plug in the OWA URL.
