Does Project allow importing from a simple text file?

I want to export from a Java application to Project, so I can have it draw my
Gantt Charts and scheduling diagrams. Does Project have a format that it can
read (like Excel's comma-separated-values) that would be easy to output to a
file and would contain the necessary scheduling info to build my charts?

Did you try File-Open then select your location and file type?

Can you open your file in Excel?
