I want a small group to be able to edit documents together. We are
not online together at the same time so p2p is not that useful. Also
no one computer is necessarily online all the time so cannot serve as
a server. Most of us use word with reference manager software added
(eg endnote) so cannot edit online as in google docs. Also we want to
keep older versions of the edits.
I have been nlooking for commercial programs but have not really found
anyhting perfect. I note the following form this group but really do
not understand what these prograns are:
"1. Create a Shared workspace and allow other members to share your
document
- This could could be done using Share point server.
2. Using online collabaration using Web Discussions. This is a web
discussion server, where you can access your document and view
various
revisions done on your done by more than one persion.
In these two situation you require Sharepoint point server or Web
discussion
server. Otherwise you cannot view revisions incorporated
simulateneously by
more than one member. "
Any better ideas?
