Downloading duplicate entries in POP?

Hello,

I have three different profiles going to the same database. There are three
different profiles since it is on a laptop that travels between locations
and some locations require specific SMTP gateways - including confirmation
so a batch file to change the SMTP gateway won't work.

We tested it out at a different location today using the different profile -
it sent and received e-mails without issues but it duplicated the mail
already received in the inbox.

1. Is there a utility to get rid of the duplicate entries?
2. Is there a way to avoid having it re-download everything?

BTW - I have performed the office update twice and there are no remaining
patches for Office 2003 or for Windows XP SP2

BTW - it only applies to the first time I open outlook - once I have it
open, I only receive one e-mail for new messages. The problem is that it
takes for ever to sync the fist time and I'm stuck with an inbox for three
different accounts on three different servers with duplicate entries for
every e-mail.
