How do I add a drop-down menu in the task column header that is pre-populated
with the values entered for the tasks?

Hi Amanda,

Drop-downs are called value lists in Project. You cannot add a value
list to fields (columns) such as the Name field, however you can add a
custom field such as Text1, Text2, etc and create the value list in the
custom field.

To add a custom field:
1) Click in the field (column) to the right of where you wish to insert
the field.
2) Chose Insert > Column in the menu to show the Column Definition
dialog box..
3) From the Column Definition dialog box choose one of the Text fields.

Once you have inserted the text field:
4) Click your secondary mouse button on the Text column heading and
select Customize Fields from the shortcut menu.
5) Click the Value List button to add the value list to the custom
field.
6) Enter in the values needed (one in each row.). Select the data entry
options you desire.
7) Click OK to close the Value List dialog box and return to the
Customize Fields dialog box.
8) You may wish to rename the field to soemthing more useful that TextX.
9) Click OK to close the Customize Fields dialog box.

You now have the drop-down appearing in the column heading that you can
use to select the values.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
