dropdown list selects from list

I have a drop down list which contains the names of several cities. What I
would like to do is upon selection from the list, populate a field with a
2-line address, I can only seem to get one line in the field using the
var....what would the code look like to get it to recognize the two lines?

You tell us neither the application interface, it's version, nor programming
language, or "container" where you're using the dropdown list. We don't even
know what kind of dropdown list comes in question. Until you provide
sufficient information, no one will be able to help you.
