Dropdown Menus with more than 25 entries and more characters

I have a survey going to 54 different sites. To keep consistancy, I need to
have a drop down menu with more than 25 entries. Some of the entries have
long names which will exceed the 50 character limit. Is this possible or am
I going to have to use a bunch of checkboxes?
