Dropping Exchange server connection, then must rebuild database

I have a user whose connection to the Exchange server appears to drop overnight. He can still use Safari to access the Internet, etc., but can't access the Windows fileserver or perform a send/receive operation on the Exchange server.

The only resolution appears to be rebooting his system. Upon restarting, Entourage reports that his database is damaged and inaccessible, and demands a rebuild. Once on a whim I just verified it instead, and Entourage found no errors and loaded it right up without rebuilding it.

Has anyone run into a problem like this? Normally I'd just create a new Entourage identity, but the weirdness with the Windows fileserver makes me wonder if Entourage is solely the problem.

I have a user whose connection to the Exchange server appears to drop
overnight. He can still use Safari to access the Internet, etc., but

operation on the Exchange server.

What do you mean by "drop overnight"? Is the user not disconnecting
overnight? If he's using Kerberos then it has a 10-hour time limit
before the ticket must be renewed. If the user does nothing for a
10-hour period then he's not getting his ticket renewed. This is normal.

I suggest *never* rebuilding a Database that's connected to an Exchange
account. If your rebuild has problems and data is deleted then that can
replicate to your server account and you'll lose data there as well.

Delete the account from Entourage and then set up the account again. Let
it sync again.

Hope this helps!
