dumb newbie question

Apologies if this question has been answered a million times before,
but i'm a complete virgin to Powerpoint.
I've got a presentation to do that features screenshot images of
websites and software applications.
Its imperitive that the image remains at the size imported, otherwise
the image becomes unclear to read.
Is there any way at all to stop powerpoint increasing the size of the
image in the final presentation?.

Thanks in Advance

Have a look here first off:
MUSHY/BLURRY GRAPHICS in PowerPoint

If that doesn't help, let us know what version of PPT you have, how large the
images are (in pixels) and how you'll be displaying the final presentation,
particularly at what screen rez if it'll be given as a screen show.

Thanks for the tips, but unfortunately the text is still munged.
The screen size the presentation is on is 1024x768. The image sizes
vary, but most are 800x600
