Hello Ian,
The first thing you need to do is set up a fake account, but the account
must include your real SMTP settings. You do this via selecting Accounts
from the Tools menu. This opens your Accounts window. Select the Mail tab
and make the appropriate changes to what you have already done or create a
new one. Once this is complete, keep the Accounts window open and select the
News tab. Double click Microsoft News Server, and make sure the Account
Settings tab is selected. Under the Personal information area, there is a
pull down menu for which email account you would like to use. Select your
fake one you have created.
