duplicate contacts

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) When I create a new contact in Entourage, it does not warn me if this contact already exists? I end up creating duplicate contacts without realizing. How can I avoid this?

If the entry info is slightly different, Entourage cannot tell it's a
different contact. If the name is the same, it will ask "do you want to
add to existing?".

Automated scripts cannot get that Bob Jones and Robert Jones are the
same person. You'll have to do this manually. I suggest you sort by name
and/or email address columns to find the dupes.

Entourage 2008 has the ability to show First Name and Last Name. see
