I'm starting to roll out Entourage 2004 at clients and am having the
problem (which I've seen referenced only once here) where people have
duplicate messages in their Inbox.
What I'm seeing isn't just two copies of a message, but up to 8 of the
same message. Command-Option-L cleans up the list, but dupes return on
new messages shortly thereafter.
I'm also seeing the "undeletable" message-it doesn't disappear from the
Inbox or acquire a red line-just sits there. In reality, it has been
moved to Deleted Items-again Command-Option-L shows the true contents of
the Inbox.
This is a serious showstopper for a 2004 rollout. I've been just
installing for those "early adopters" who want the latest and they now
see why it isn't always a great idea to have that.
In all cases, data has been migrated from earlier clients-Ent X, Ent
2001, even Outlook Express 5.
I have not tried to create an identity within Ent 2004 from sratch, yet.
Looking at the mailbox (in both cases) with another client shows the
correct content of the Inbox, so this isn't a server issue-Entourage
2004 is just not displaying the corrrect data.
Suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
Might this be fixed in SP2?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Jon
