Duplicate messages that can't be deleted

It seems like Entourage doesn't see the messages and downloads them again.
When I try to delete the duplicates they change from unread to read, but do
not get moved to the deleted folder. Can anyone help? I am getting 4-6
copies of every e-mail...

What kind of account? POP, IMAP, Exchange

What version of Entourage?

This probably won't help your situation, but try option-command-L. It does
an (undocumented) "special" IMAP refresh.

Try control-clicking the folder and choosing "Repair Message List".

Next option would be to rebuild your database. This will cause you to
download EVERYTHING again, but it should only be a one time thing.

Before you do the rebuild, test in a new Identity in Entourage and see if a
new Identity works as expected. This will help eliminate database corruption
as the cause.

If anyone else has this problem,

OPTION-COMMAND-L

It works!! I am so happy. I get so much e-mail a day and this has been going
on for a week. You can imagine the inbox :)
