Duplicate Name

Our company uses Outlook 2000. We share contacts using Net Folders. Yesterday I added a contact and today that contact is duplicating every time it updates/synchronizes with the other computers. At the moment it's up to 218 duplicates of that one contact. What's going on? and how can it be fixed?
