DVD from within Powerpoint?

Hi,
Can anybody tell me whether or not I can run a DVD film from within my
PowerPoint presentation? I don;t want people in the audience to have
to watch me clicking between applications. I am running Office XP and
have plenty of hard disk space to store the DVD on.

Legally or practically?
I'll ignore the first issue but, on a practical note, you may be able to
insert an instance of your DVD player application into PowerPoint as an
object. If not (and in fact this would be my method of choice anyway) you
could rip the section of the DVD to an MPEG2 file and play it. For this you
may need advice from www.digital-digest.com (far too lengthy to duplicate
here) and the MPEG2 decoder from www.elecard.com or similar.
