DVD Powerpoint links

Seems all the DVD posts here are about how to play a PP on a DVD player.
Oddly, I know how to do that, but have a simpler problem. I will probably
figure it out, but I am under the gun. Never too proud to ask...

When I use package for CD and write to a folder, all is well and my videos
all run. I copied to a separate drive to make sure the links were relative,
and again, all good. When I burn to a DVD, the PP runs, but the videos do
not play. These are single screen sub-pp's launched via a button/action.
The sub-PP launches, but the video does not. Two taps on the spacebar and
you are back to the main PP, so it is not an error.

It LOOKS like a path issue, but no errors and the PP runs fine from
everywhere but DVD. Since there is no code to look at , I am having a bit of
a problem troubleshooting this.

Need send this to corporate today. Suggestions?

Regards,
Dave

Hi Dave,

did you copy the FOLDER onto the DVD? Please only copy the CONTENTS. The
PowerPoint file and all the films have to be in the root directory.

Best regards,

Nope. I know that pothole. I found later that the burner was not totally
reliable, but the nature of that error suggest it is not the culprit. I
burned another on another burner and it works fine...though I've not been
able to test on a DVD-equipped laptop and "working fine" from the machine it
was burned on is not what I consider a useful beta test. The first one
worked fine on the unreliable burner machine.

Thanks,
Dave

This is just a shot in the dark but it could be the resolution of the
videos. I had a similar problem once trying to run a PPT DVD on a
projector. They looked like they were trying to run but there was
nothing there. The projector was only 800x600 and when I ran them
through an XGA projector they worked fine.

Have you tried burning just the videos to DVD and see if they wrok
independent of PPT?
