Dynamic Data in Presentation

I am looking to convert a sales presentation which is currently being
filled manually will all sales figures. I would like convert this into
a dynamic presentation, which would be connected to a SQL database, and
all sales figures be generated when the presentation or slide loads.
Is this possible and what programs can this be accomplished with;
PowerPoint, VS.NET, Visual Basic 6?
