Dynamic/incremental images - how to do this?

I am doing a presentation about the way a message travels through a wireless
network.

The network can be presented with several network nodes (i.e. 15 of them). I
would like to show how message starts from node S, then show the next hop
toward the neighbouring node A - and so on. I would like eventually to hit
the D (destination node).

I don't know how to do this. I assume the basis PowerPoint is not capable of
doing this.

Which version of PowerPoint do you use? The newest versions (2002/xp and
2003) have so-called custom animation paths which allow you to show an
object moving along a path. You can adjust those paths as you can do with
lines.

Best regards,
Ute

Ute,
thanks for quick response.

I am using 2003 version. How to access features that you mentioned?

I am researching this issue. It appears to me that I will need to make a
(macromedia) flash type of dynamic graphics, that would need (somehow) be
imported into my presentation.

Have you heard of this way of doing things?

I am using 2003 version. How to access features that you mentioned?Click on the object you want to move, open the animation task pane, Add
Effect, the last item in the list are Custom Animation Paths. Choose to
draw a path. Start in the middle of the object and follow the path you want
it to take, finish with double-click. See Echo's tutorial for editing
FreeForm lines (applies to custom animation paths, too):

Yes, Flash can be inserted into PowerPoint slides, see Geetesh' site for an
overview: http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/ppflash.html
