Dynamic update of PPT slide displaying Excel worksheet range

Can the experts help wth this one please? I have an application which
displays a range from an Excel sheet as a single slide PPS. This is a
despatch display Screen for all to see. Data in the excel sheet is changing
on a regular basis and this needs to be reflected on the PPS display. I have
update links set to auto and also have tried Shyam Pillai's excellent update
add-in. It all works fine for about 15 minutes after starting and then stops.
By selecting edit/links, selecting the link and updating manually (still set
to auto), it resumes auto update for 5 minutes or so and then stops and so
on. Please folks, any ideas on fixing this so it updates continuously without
stopping? Many thanks for any advice which will be very much appreciated.

Auto updating of links during a slide show function differently by
version. What version are you using?

And what mechanism are you using to force the update?

Hi Brian
Many thanks for the reply. I am using XP with Office 2003. When the Excel
workbook is opened, I have code that opens the .ppt file in which the
particular worksheet is embedded and then runs the show on a second monitor
(the display). In this way the operator can make changes to the controlling
spreadsheet which are immediately reflected in another sheet in the workbook
which is the one copied into the .ppt file and therefore any changes update
the .ppt displayed on the second display monitor. For example, there is a
series of clocks that show time in different zones that update every ten
seconds. In the .ppt file, Edit/Links is set to auto update and Shyam
Pillai's "Update Links during Show" add-in has been loaded. The whole thing
works fine as I said but only for about 15 minutes in the first instance and
then for about 5 minutes after an update is actioned in Edit/Links.

I hope I have given the info you were seeking. I can send you the files if
you like.

Many thanks,
Bernard
