e-mail address not recgnized

I am trying to send an e-mail to "sky.com/news"
The contacts box pops-up and says e-mail not recognized and gives no
suggestions.
I have turned autocomplete and stopped check to bc cc boxes.
What is wrong can anyone help.
When ever I try to use an e-mail address not in my contacts this happens.
One off e-mails I do not want to put on my contacts

sky.com/news isn't a valid address. Might it be something like (e-mail address removed)?
