e mail not bringing over proper addresses from contact list...

When sending an e mail, I look up a contact in the e
mail "TO" bar, identify the contact and double click, it
doesn't bring over the proper e mail address. If I
hit "PROPERTIES" for that contact, the e mail address is
there. Why isn't it bringing it over to the e mail send
spot???
