E-mailing a large Word document

I just bought a brand new computer. My old computer has Word 2000 on it. I
have 1 word file that I'd like to get over to the new computer, not sure how
it can be done. It's a 14mb word doc including text and several digital
photos. My old system does not have a CD burner. File's too large to save to
a floppy (tried saving individual pages to several floppies, did not work as
some individual pages are too large for a floppy). Tried to e-mail the
document as an attachment via msn mail, "attachment too large message" came
up. Looking for help... I'm, as you might of guessed, a real novice on
transferring, e-mailing docs, etc. Thanks...

Do a Google for 'free email' -- there are other providers around, some of
which do not have the 2MB limit. I've used www.gawab.com, which allows up to
10MB attachments. Try zipping your file and see what it comes down to.

Alternatively, remove the photos and save the document under a new name.
Then try zipping it. If you need to keep the photos, save the document as
HTML -- the photos will end up in a sub-folder called 'File for [filename]'.
Zip and email these separately.
