Editing email - next highlighted email after deleting

Does anyone know if there is a way to change which email is previewed
after a deletion. As it stands both "mail for osx" and Entourage go to
the next NEWEST mail after a deletion.

Being a previous PC owner I'm used to "driving on the other side of the
road" (delete- then next OLDEST email is previewed.)

Try using the corresponding keyboard shortcuts instead:

CTRL+OPTION+[ Delete the current message and display the previous unread
message.

CTRL+OPTION+] Delete the current message and display the next unread
message.
