Editing someone else's distribution list

I'llGetItRightSoonerOrLater

In our address book we have a distribution list called "ALL"
containing all employees. The system administrator updates this list
regularly.

I would like to use that list to mail a company newsletter to everyone
on the list MINUS those who say they don't want to receive the
newsletter anymore. I can't edit the original list, so I've tried the
following:

1. Putting distro list into my contacts to edit it as my own list.
Problem: can't edit list

2. Export list to Access
Problem: exports list name/address only without list members.

Any suggestions?
