Efficiency question from a previous PC user

Joe

I send a lot of emails from my word documents. In my PC all I would
have to do after generating the file is go up to "File" and choose send
to and one of the choices would be "mail receipent". When I click on
that, Outlook would pop up with a new email slot open and that word
file already attached to it. Can I do the same with Entourage? I can
not find it anywhere and when I called Mac help they told me to come
here.

Thank you,

Joe

You bet. In Word 2004 (and earlier, if I remember correctly), it works
the same way. Just choose File> Send to > Mail Recipient as
attachement.

Just for fun, see if you like grabbing the icon in the title bar of the
document and dragging it down to the Entourage icon in the dock-- does
the same thing.

Any idea why Application->Services->Mail->Send* etc. launches Mail.app
even though Entourage is registered as the default mail application?

Send as attachment was available for Word X, but 2004 added a new feature -
send as HTML where the word document forms the body of the email.

Those services are specifically designed for Mail and are not compatible
with other mail applications even though those functions don't seem specific
to Mail. Note that an easy way to send a file as an attachment in an
Entourage mail message is simply to drag the file you want to attach onto
the Entourage application icon, either in the Finder or on the Dock.
