Eliminate sending to own self in group address

Dear all,

May I ask is there any way to stop user from receiving the same email that
he sent out if he is sending to the group email address which he is a member
of?

Thanks

This depends on the way the distributionlist was created, where it is
stored, how it was addressed and what mailserver (and version) is being
used. (Don't you just love the variables? ;-)

Hi Roady,

My company are using Win 2000 Server (SP3), Exchange 2000 (SP3) and client
Outlook 2003. The group was created as scope: Global, Type: Security and was
in the same object 'Users'. Can it be done??? Thanks very much.

No, but in Outlook 2003 you can press the + on the distribution list to
extract it so you can remove your own address. The downside is a crowded To
field.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate it. I think I will set a rule for my
colleague to delete all incoming emails received from himself, although not
encouraged but worth the try.

Thanks
