EMAIL ATTACHMENTS CORRUPT

One of our email recipient has problems with our attached files - usually PDF -, which appear as "corrupt". All others cc. don't have this problem. When others forward the same files they seem to receive it without corruption. Is this problem on our end in Entourage or Exchange, or is it theirs. Reading past post on this issue I have checked the "preferences" and it is set to "AppleDouble". Will checking the "append extension" make a difference?
