email constantly interrupted by updates (to inbox, etc.)

Is there a way to control the constant email interruptions (noted by
rainbow ball spinning) while Entourage decides to update every mailbox
known to man while I'm checking my email/writing? It happens at a very
annoying frequency! Enough to make me want to stop using it....any
suggestion?

In your Menu bar go to Tools> Schedules. Depending on how you have
entourage set up you may see Receive and or Send & Receive. Double
click on them and set the time to check on how often you want Entourage
to check for updates.

Thanks very much for your suggestion. I tried it....unfortunately, it
didn't work. The beach ball spins anytime I click anything now, whether
it's updating anything or not. I don't get it....guess I'll switch to
mac mail.
