Email Meeting Confirmations from Calendar

Is there anyway to write a macro that will send out a meeting
confirmation to a calendar entry? In all cases, the intended receipient
is listed in the contact section. None of my intended receipients use
the built in Outlook meeting share funtion as these are not people with
whom I work every day.
