Is there anyway to have Entourage 2004 send out an email alert
reminding me of a calendar event? Or better yet send this alert as a
text message to my cell phone?

iCal has this ability.

No, but it's been requested. You can add your voice via Help Menu/Send
Feedback.
iCal has this ability.

You can try my Sync Entourage-iCal script at

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

It lets you sync Entourage to iCal, and you can configure it to sync your
event and task reminders to email alarms in iCal. You never have to look at
iCal, or Mail, but it will still work from Entourage reminders.
