Email Notification

Mich

I am a new user to Microsoft Entourage X for Mac, and am having trouble
figuring out how to set it to automatically notify me when I receive an
email. I have to click on the Send/Receive button to see if I have any
email, but I want it to check it automatically. So that I don't miss
anything while I am in another program.

I also need to find out how to request a email receipt from the
receipent when the email is read. Please let me know how I can set
these two options.
Thanks,
Mich

You need a special Header Field for the receipt request. In En'rage,
this is done in:

Tools -> Accounts -> Mail (a tab). Highlight the account and choose
Edit. An edit window will open. Then choose Options (a tab).

In the Additional Headers window there are two panes, labeled Header and
Value.

Enter "Return-Receipt-To" (without the quotes) in the Header pane and
"Your Names <[email protected]>" (without the
quotes, but with the "<" and ">" characters around the address) in the
Value pane.

Next, enter a new line with "Disposition-Notification-To" in the Header
pane and your same e-mail address in the Value pane.

Now, anyone receiving an e-mail from you will be presented with a notice
(if their mail application supports it) that the sender has requested a
receipt. You probably do not want this, as it p1sses most people off.
Therefor you should create a separate account with these headers and
then choose that account when sending e-mails that abolutely require a
receipt.

Under the tools menu, see the options for Schedules. There is a 'send and
receive all' schedule that you should set to check every ten minutes or so.
