email sent but comes back into outbox

G4 iMac running Panther and Office v.x 10.1.5
When the user creates an email and sends it, everything works
as expected for a short time. I haven't timed it but the email
then shows up in the Outbox and continues to try to send at the
prescribed schedule. This is driving them crazy.

It can be stopped by deleting the contents of the Outbox but
who wants it to work that way?
Crazy thoughts, a fouled up rule or some kind of forwarding?

I have seen this only a3-4 of times in the past two years. Sometimes just
opening the message and clicking on Send and it will go through. Other times
if I copy/paste it into another message it will send. Since this very rare
it's no way in knowing why it has happened. I also don't remember it being
reported by other users.

It's possible it is a rule, but you really haven't provided enough info to
make any suggestion.

To check for a rule, just uncheck all rules and see if that helps.
