email warning message when click on links

Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

Could someone please advise - is there ANY way to turn off that ridiculous warning message you get when clicking on an http link in an email:

"This link might be a fraud. Do you want to open it? This link might be part of a phishing attempt.... etc etc"

As far as I'm concerned, this message should only appear in emails in the junk mail folder, or emails not yet marked as safe.

Instead the message appears every single time I click a link, in any email. A somewhat unecessary, overly cautious feature.

Have looked in vain for a way of switching this off, but no luck. Any help greatly appreciated.

This can not be turned off.

Have a look at the last line on this page about Entourage's phishing
protection on Microsoft's website:

Then send feedback to Microsoft using the Help --> Send Feedback tool in
any Office application.

It's odd that it should be appearing in *every* link that you click, unless
you're getting a lot of e-mails with malformed links. I can't specifically
recall *ever* seeing this dialog box myself.

The link that Bill provided to the phishing protection information describes
the only URLs that it should actually be trapping. If it's picking up normal
URLs then something else is wrong as this is not the way it's supposed to
function.

thanks for the replies everyone.

Since I posted this question, I've looked into it further.

The phishing warning mainly picks up links in news emails, from major newspapers and the like - even ones from Microsoft, believe it or not.

Perhaps it is because the links are redirects or have tracking code on them.

Still, I believe that once you have marked the email as not being junk, then it shouldn't happen. Or the first time it does happen, you should be given the option to switch it off for links from this source in future.

it is extremely annoying, I gotta say.

Be sure to send feedback. Add your voice to the others that find this
feature annoying.

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.
