email will not send

I am having trouble sending emails through entourage. I can receive,
and cannot send. Here is the message I get:
An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down,
overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.
Error: -3259

This happend when I recently changed internet service. Anyone have any
suggestions? Tried everything (changing ports, secure connections,
logins, ect.) suggested on the microsoft website, and anywhere else I
can find trouble shooting information. It should work- as I have sent
emails through the webmail without using entourage.

Please help!

Who is your provider? Do they use authentication? If so, have you entered
the appropriate supplementary information for authentication in your
account?

The only info listed for error -3259 is for an exchange account.

If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.
Check your Keychain for corruption.

The same thing happened to us when we changed host. What fixed our problem
was to SMTP server in the account then click on Advanced sending options
click on SMTP server require authentication and click on use same settings
as receiving mail server. It worked for us.
