I¹m not sure if I am doing this right, so please bear with me. I have two
questions and would sure appreciate your help.

1- Most of the time, when I open an email it opens it in a window that goes
across the screen but is only an inch down, like:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
|
|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I then have to hit the green button to expand the email to the whole screen.

2- My Entourage database is pretty large and it is having a significant
impact on performance. Is there a way to archive part of it like Outlook in
Office for Windows?

Thanks so much,

Open the window (you willneed to do this for messages and each type of
window like the main window) drag the window to the size you like. Close the
window and reopen. Does the size stick?

Yes, see "Archive Your Data" for additional help and tips.

If you want quick access to your archived mail, I suggest creating a new
Identity that will allow you to quickly "Switch Identities" to view old
mail. Some users do this yearly.

If you simply wish to have snapshots of your data to use in case of database
failure, the following will move your mail out of your current Identity.

1. Export as MBOX files. This option has the advantage in that these
messages can be imported into other email applications.

2. Create an Entourage archive (.rge) This one requires you to import the
entire file into Entourage to search for a particular message.

3. Make a copy of the Identity.

4. Export to another database like FileMaker. eMessage Archiver uses a
runtime version of FM that is free.
