Email Client: imap

Hi,

I am a new mac user.

When i view my emails on my black berry or my IMAP server, it will delete (email disappears) the email from entourage...WHY!?

I feel as if Entourage thinks that once i have viewed it on my server, I don't want it in my Entourage anymore (isn't that what a pop3 is supposed to do but the opposite?)

When the email disappears, it is no where to be found in any folder. I have found people having this problem with folders, but it is happening with each email for me.
any help would be great.
thanks,

Do you possible have the option to view unread messages only selected?
This will be per folder. Select View --> Unread Only to toggle on and off.

Hope this helps!

Hey Bill,
Maybe you can help me with something else.

What is the fastest way to add a new contact?
In Outlook, when I would receive an email from a new contact, i could drag it into my 'contacts/address book' tab and it would instantly add the name and email into the window, and i could fill out the rest.
any thing like that in entourage?
best,
Eli

Hi Eli!

You have a few options.

1. You can set a rule to add a sender to your address book. Of course,
that doesn't discriminate who gets added.

2. You can right-click or Control-click the sender's name in a mail
message and select "Add to Address Book..."

3. You can select Message --> Add To Address Book.

4. You can simply type Command-Option-C.

Hope this helps!

Outlook?

I'm not familiar with that Outlook feature. Why would you want the
contents of one E-mail in the notes section of your contact record? You
could also have other messages from the same user. What good would this
serve?

I liked it because from there, i could copy and paste the phone number and other info into the address card.
also, it would help me document to remember who the person was and what we had discussed

You can copy/paste text into the Notes field of the contact under the Other
tab.

One Mac application that I really like is CopyPastePro. It remembers
multiple clipboards. For example, I could copy text from an email (copying
each field individually), then using CopyPaste Pro, I select each item when
I'm in the contact to paste in the info. CopyPaste Pro puts an icon in the
Menu bar to select from a drop down menu.

I find this invaluable when I crash because all my recent copy/paste items
are still available.

Cheers and Welcome to Mac! I have a few tips and links posted to help new
