Emails don't leave outbox

Hi,

I've been experiencing problems sending emails from Entourage 2004 (I'm
running Tiger Mac OSX). Technically the email is sent but it never
leaves my outbox! I'm getting an error message when it tries to send
the emai.

This is really irritating as this problem just mysteriously appeared
and I haven't done anything to my computer lately. I quit Entourage
and restarted it - no help - removed my email account and added it
again - no help - restarted my computer - no help!!

Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

We have had the same problem for ages on our 100BaseT/SDSL network: we have
Macs on OS X.3.9 working off a distant mail server in NYC, and find that
Entourage sporadically leaves the copy that is supposed to go in "sent
items" in the outbox for days, weeks, until we manually discard it or copy
and paste it into a new bogus email. Apparently the email gets somehow
corrupted, since we cannot ever open or move the offending mail.

The other really wonderful thing that Entourage does on this system is crash
without warning quite often. Hard drive is in excellent shape, caches are
regularly discarded. Don't you think Microsoft could prioritize that? Seems
pretty basic.

So basically there's no solution for this? That sucks.

I think I should just start using Mail.
