Emails going to wrong box

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Email Client: pop Okay, so instead of going to my inbox, all of my general mail is going to another folder. I have unclicked the mail rule for that person and it's still doing it. And I have three or four emails and they're all going to that folder. Any ideas how to correct it? Thanks.

Hi,

check Tools>Mailing List Manager for any unwanted mailing list rule that
you do not remember creating; disable or delete it and see if the
problem disappears.

As Michel explained the Mailing List Manager is the most likely culprit.
It's easy to make a MLM rule when marking a message as junk. Be sure to
check the MLM first. These rules run first.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

Use the MLM for all lists. Use rules for the remainder. Try to use
categories instead of individual addresses when possible. When a new address
is added to a contact in the Address Book then it will automatically be
acted on by the rule if you use categories in your rules. See example:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/rules/example/rule002.html>

1) POP Rules act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in the Inbox (On My
Computer), NOT when it arrives in any other folder. Once it's moved to
another folder it won't be seen by rules.

2) IMAP Rules are meant to act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in
the IMAP INBOX, not when moved to another IMAP folder.

3) Exchange Rules act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in the
Exchange Inbox.

Each type of account has it's own rules. Click on the correct tab to check
your rules. (Mail (POP), Mail (IMAP) Mal (Windows Live Hotmail) Mail
(Exchange), News, Outgoing)

See "Using Rules with Entourage" for help and examples:

Thanks. I don't have any IMAP, Mal or Mail settings. The only thing I do have is a lot of POP rules. I unselected the two that belong to the box where all my mail is going. It didn't change anything. So, I think I'm just going to undue rules until I find out which one it is. Is there a setting I might have accidentally switched to send all my incoming mail to that box?

Frustrating but thanks for the advice thus far. It is appreciated.

I bet it¹s a Mailing List Manager rule. If there are not Mailing List
Manager rules, start at the top rule and check settings. Rules run from the
top down.
