Emails returning undeliverable that I did not send

Help,
I keep getting messages back that I did not send as "undeliverable".
I have virus protection from Norton AV 6.0.2 My OS is Mac 9.2.2

Does anyone have an idea why my Entourage 2001 program does
this? Why and how is my Entourage sending out these messages?

It is unlikely that Entourage is sending these messages.

What is more likely is that your email addressed has been hijacked by a
spammer and is being used as a fake return address in spam. This has come to
be an all-too-common problem. Two of my own accounts have been hijacked at
one time or another.

The only good thing is that the spammer usually moves along to another
victim after a couple of days or a couple of weeks.

This practice is, of course, theft (of your on-line identity), slander
(against your good name), and outright fraud (on the entire community) and
should be prosecuted as such. Maybe if the law ever catches up to the
technology, it will be.

In the meantime, it would not hurt to notify your ISP, just so they know for
sure it's not you.
