Embeded .wav file - "Start playing from time" question

I am putting the finishing touches on a kiosk presentation that wil
simply repeat a series of slides meant to catch the attention o
possible customers as they pass by our "Booth" at trade shows.
We have found the perfect musical background to go with it but the son
was an mp3. The good news was that we learned that we needed to star
the song 10 seconds from the beginning of the song by experimentin
with the "Start Playing - from time" feature.
I then converted the song to .wav using CDex as recommended in othe
threads found on this board.
The bad news is that I can no longer seem to get the music to start 1
seconds into the song. The song starts at the beginning. Any ideas?
Is it me or is this just how it is with embeded .wav's?

Insert your wav file
When prompted, choose start WITHOUT click
Go to custom animation
select the sound file
in the drop down, go to timing
in the delay box, enter the amount of time you want to wait before the sound
begins to play.
Hope this helps!!!

Thanks, John.
But that is not what I am looking for. I need the music to start a
soon as the slide show begins, it's just that the "perfect" song fo
the show has a 10 second introduction that needs to be eliminated.
When we were looking at song candidates, all of the songs were mp3'
and we were able to use the "Play Sound - Effect" option found i
Custom Annimation to Start Playing the song "From time: 00:10". Tha
means that we were able to start the audio file (music) 10 seconds int
the song and thus eliminate the undesireable introduction.
Since the file has been converted to a .wav file seems as if the Star
Playing From Time option is not functioning. I had to resort to simpl
accepting the introduction, which is "good enough", but I hate "goo
enough".
Thanks anyway, John.

If you need to eliminate the first 10", why don't you use a soft as
Audacity?

Depending on how you inserted you WAV file. you can do the same thing with
it as you did with the MP3 file. Or you could attach your sound to an event
that starts 10 seconds after the show starts. i.e a transparent box with the
music attached.
