Employee/Attendance Tracking

I need to track daily and monthly attendance of 100+
people per day. I have been using the ole paper sign in
sheet and then at the end of the month doing the grunt
work of tallying the monthly %attendance for each
individual. I just know there has to be an easier
way...does anyone know how i can automate/simplify this?
