We have Outlook/Exchange 2003 and users are running in
cached mode. Whe a user recovers a deleted item from their
deleted items folder, it does not show up in their
mailbox. If you look at the synchronization settings of
the deleted items folder, you see a difference between
objects on the server and objects in the folder (Deleted
items folder, is the only folder with different amount of
objects).The object is not coming down to the client even
if you press F9. If you go to Outlook Web Access, you can
see the item. If you take the user out of cached mode, it
works fine.
I have narrowed it down to a policy problem. As soon as
you set the policy. Emptytrash 1 (empty deleted items upon
exit), the recovered item is not downloaded to the client
when in cached mode. As soon as you remove this policy,
the file appears.
I know that other people had exactly the same problem. I
saw similar posts in newsgroups some month ago. Now we
applied Office2003 SP1, but this "Bug" isn't fixed. Can
anyone shed some light on this? Is it a bug? Is there a
fix? Its important for us, because we do not want to turn
of the policy and we want to run in cached mode.
