end movie go back to menu

Hi,

I've created n autorun CD which has a menu on it with 4 m-pegs approx 2.35
seconds each. From the menu they click on the language they want and goes to
a blank slide with zero transition to the films. Currently on the slide
wiht the film on
it it has a button saying 'main menu' which is hyperlinked to the menu page.

Is there a way I can program the slide page with the film so when finished
goes
automatically to main manu without causing any play back problems in the CD
rom
drive.

Thank you

Echo S

I think what I would do here is create a custom show for each movie slide
and then link to the custom show. With a custom show, you have the option to
"show and return," which is what you'd want to do here.

R

Ramin

Thank you,

Do you mean put the films in separate presentaions? How do I do show and
return?
I'm using PPT 2000 and don't see the option is setting up show.

Thanks

No, I mean use custom shows. Go to Slide Show/Custom Shows. Click the New
button to create a custom show.

To link to one, right-click the appropriate text box (the one that will link
to th movie slide custom show), choose Action Settings. In the Hyperlink To
area in that dialog, choose Custom Show. At the bottom of that custom show
dialog, there's a "show and return" box. Select that.

Ahhhh! TAJ has a tutorial for this already created.

Hi Echo S,

Followed the tutorial to the letter. In the presentation the slide with the
film is set up as custom show and in the menu the hyperlink uses action
settings to link to the custom show slide with show and return selected.
Still after the movie is played it does not return. Multimedia settings for
the film is 'continue with slide show after one slide and rewind the film.
The whole presentation is also in kiosk mode. However when during the show
after the film is played when pressing esc button instead of going back to
editor mode it goes to the menu slide. Any suggestions as the tutorial is
fairly simple to follow.

Thanks

I believe you need to set an automatic transition on the slide your movie is
on. The transition effect can be "no transition" if you want, but you need
to add the "advance after XX seconds" transition timing.

Try setting the time there for a second or so longer than your movie. For
instance, I experimented with an 11-second movie, so I set my transition
time for 12 seconds. The custom show then returned to the main menu as it
should.

Sorry I neglected to mention that in my original reply, Ramin.

I don't know what the problem is, then, as it works here in PPT 2000. It
also works if I run it in the PPT 97 Viewer, which is what I assume you're
doing with your autorun CD.

Maybe try deselecting all of this stuff:
'continue with slide show after one slide and rewind the film.

would cause more problems than just looping the movie and not returning the

the
film
even though this option is not selected in animation settings and
does
not
go
back to menu.

:

I believe you need to set an automatic transition on the slide your
movie is
on. The transition effect can be "no transition" if you want,
but
you
need
to add the "advance after XX seconds" transition timing.

Try setting the time there for a second or so longer than your movie.
For
instance, I experimented with an 11-second movie, so I set my transition
time for 12 seconds. The custom show then returned to the main
menu
as
it
should.

Sorry I neglected to mention that in my original reply, Ramin.

Hi Echo S,

Followed the tutorial to the letter. In the presentation the slide
with
the
film is set up as custom show and in the menu the hyperlink uses
action
settings to link to the custom show slide with show and return
selected.
Still after the movie is played it does not return. Multimedia
settings
for
the film is 'continue with slide show after one slide and
rewind
the
film.
The whole presentation is also in kiosk mode. However when
during
the
show
after the film is played when pressing esc button instead of going
back to
editor mode it goes to the menu slide. Any suggestions as the
tutorial is
fairly simple to follow.

Thanks

:

No, I mean use custom shows. Go to Slide Show/Custom Shows. Click
the
New
button to create a custom show.

To link to one, right-click the appropriate text box (the
one
that
will
link
to th movie slide custom show), choose Action Settings. In the
Hyperlink
To
area in that dialog, choose Custom Show. At the bottom of that
custom
show
dialog, there's a "show and return" box. Select that.

Ahhhh! TAJ has a tutorial for this already created.

Thank you,

Do you mean put the films in separate presentaions? How
do I
do
show
and
return?
I'm using PPT 2000 and don't see the option is setting up show.

Thanks

:

I think what I would do here is create a custom show for each
movie
slide
and then link to the custom show. With a custom show,
you
have
the
option to
"show and return," which is what you'd want to do here.

Hi,

I've created n autorun CD which has a menu on it with
4
m-pegs
approx
2.35
seconds each. From the menu they click on the
language
they
want
and
goes
to
a blank slide with zero transition to the films. Currently on
the
slide
wiht the film on
it it has a button saying 'main menu' which is
hyperlinked
to
the
menu
page.

Is there a way I can program the slide page with the
film
so
when
finished
goes
automatically to main manu without causing any play back
problems
in
the
CD
rom
drive.

Thank you
