Ent 2004 Crashes on Print Command

When I try to print from the print icon on top of an Entourage 2004 mail
message, Entourage crashes big time with the following error message.

Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 1.0

Error Signature:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Date/Time: 2004-08-25 15:05:55 -0500
Application Name: Microsoft Entourage
Application Version: 11.0.0.040405
Module Name: libobjc.A.dylib
Module Version: unknown
Module Offset: 0x000011f4
Extra app info: Reg=English Loc=0x0409

extra stuff cut

The 'only' way I can print is to go the the main Entourage 'File' menu
bar and select the 'Print one copy' option. All other print options
cause the major crash reported above.

Help..... what am I doing wrong? The same thing happens with Word and
what is a EXC_BAD_ACCESS error?

Is there some kind of preference file I need to trash?

When I try to print from the print icon on top of an Entourage 2004 mail
message, Entourage crashes big time with the following error message.

As a test, switch to a new User in System Preferences. Now try to print. If
it does not work there, then I would use "Remove Office". If it does print,
then it indicates a problem in your User's folder.

Entourage Preferences:

Remove Office Info:

Diane,

As you suggested I change to a generic user and Ent-2004 printed. I then
changed back to the main user and it crashed on print with the following
error message
--------------------------------
Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 1.0

Error Signature:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Date/Time: 2004-08-27 13:17:12 -0500

Extra app info: Reg=English Loc=0x0409

Thread 0 crashed:
--------------------------------

What files in my user folder should I trash? Looks like my main
identity is hosed.

As suggested in the FAQ I removed preference file and still have the
print problem. It CRASHES big time.

Looks like I am going to have to do a fresh install and start over from
scratch. I really don't want to have to rebuild everything.

Followed your suggestions and I think it is fixed.

I just printed from Excel, Word, Entourage and even Safari without the
crash on the HP 1115 Photosmart printer. I don't really know what fixed
the problem because I messed with everything. I ran the OSX 10.3.5
updater again. That did not solve the problem. I then used the Office
2004 Remove application to ditch the Office stuff and then re-installed
from the CD using the drag option rather than the MS installer. It
still crashed and would not print so I used the new Office "Database
Utility" and ran each of the options one at a time. I think (not sure)
the Rebuild may have done the trick. I really don't understand the new
"Set database preferences" but it may have helped. I really don't

This was really a nasty problem and i hope it is history. Since I have
it running I am doing a backup before i screw with anything else.

Happy Ending to a long shaggy dog story!

I really don't

Set database preferences allows you to have Entourage "watch" your database
in the background.
