"Enter parameter value" error message

A

I changed the recordsource of a report but somehow, everytime I run the
report, I keep getting unwanted error messages like "enter parameter value"
for every old field that was originally on the report. (which makes me wonder
if the field list is not resfreshed). Yet, when I go to the field list of the
page, only the new fields that I want to see on the report are in there.
Please help

Thanks

Have a look at John Vinson's answer on the post in the New Users section
The post is called - mystery pop-ups - this post was made today

One possible location for the phantom "parameter value" is something in
Sorting and Grouping. Other places to check include concatenated or
calculated controls and VBA code. If the report is based on a query, check
to be sure the old field isn't part of a calculation, criteria, or
concatenation. Also, it may help to make sure there isn't a text box with
the same name as the phantom field. When you drag a field from the field
list to the report the default name for the control is the name of the
field. If you change the controls's Control Source it will still have the
original name. I can't recall if this would cause the problem you describe,
but it is worth checking.

Wayne,
I can't seem to find the "mystery pop-ups" post. Any way you could send me
John Vinson's answer?
Thanks so much

This is John's answer which I have copied accross to this post - it gives as
good an answer as you find on the subject.

Oh and don't worry - we have all had these perameter popups in our time

Enjoy whatever it is you do

You'll get this popup if the Query underlying the form contains a name
in square brackets which is not recognized by Access: it could be a
misspelled or missing fieldname, or a criterion, or in an expression.
Or, perhaps the Report has such a value in its Sorting and Grouping
dialog or in an expression in a textbox's Control Source.

It may take some searching to find it, but it's surely there
somewhere!

Bruce, you were absolutely right! It had to do with Sorting and Grouping.
Thanks so much. You're a lifesaver :)
